You're invited to stand up for children...by sitting down to dinner. It's fun. And important. And deliciously simple. It all started on World Food Day, October 16, 2008 – when caring Canadians shared a meal together to help hungry children. Through this remarkable campaign, companies, employees and customers within Canada’s electrical industry have come together to raise much-needed funds and awareness for children affected by poverty. Hungry For Change has seen exceptional participation from over 400 branches and t housands of employees, suppliers and customers. Let’s Make 2011 the Best Year Yet - The news of rising food costs around the world brings child poverty and hunger to the forefront. Since 2008, the Canadian Electrical Industry has been fighting hunger and feeding kids. Last year, Hungry For Change achieved a remarkable goal of $305,000, serving up more than 1,220,000 meals to hungry kids, bringing the three year meal total to over $750,000 and 3,000,000 meals.
In 2011, we invite you to once again make a difference and join the campaign as we work together to reach even more children. Our goal this year is $500,000 and we know that together we can make this happen.
Many of the communities in which we work are seeing an extraordinary rise in food costs. If we each give 15 per cent more than we did in 2010 and inspire more supporters to join the campaign – we can ensure that children will continue to be fed and that communities in need have the opportunity to thrive.
Help us reach our 2011 goal. Register now! You can help. Donate, register your event, or contact mraino@canadianfeedthechildren.ca to discuss other ideas. THANK YOU CANADIAN ELECTRICAL INDUSTRY!
